Get Ideas

Below is a list of bloggers who regularly post photographs of their Priority: Alzheimer’s Quilts, including quilts “in progress.” (We’re just beginning!) Visit their blogs for inspiration for your next quilt and to meet others who are trying to make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s….one quilt at a time.

If you are a blogger and you blog regularly (at least once a month) about the Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative, email Peg Howard at slicesoflight@gmail.com  and she will add you to the list. Please put the words “Peg, add me to the blog list” in the subject line. (An “I Blog For the AAQI” logo and link is in the works.)

Additionally, every time you publish a Priority: Alzheimer’s Quilt related blog, even if you’re not a frequest blogger and are not on the list, comment on this page and include the URL to your Priority: Alzheimer’s Quilt post.

I recently sent in my first priority quilt, it is currently on the “Quilts Waiting for Assignment” page, #8826. I have another smaller one finished, but will wait until I have completed a few more before sending in. I am hoping to contribute Priority quilts regularly during 2012.
I included them in my most recent blog post (last night) and then found this page for commenting about our posts this morning.

One Little Quilt at a Time:
    http://with-heart-and-hands.blogspot.com/2011/01/one-little-quilt-at-time.html

Why I just made a quilt for Alzheimer’s and how it helped me cope with my father’s death in August, his birthday last Saturday, and my mothers ongoing challenged with Alzheimer’s.

  13. Rhonda Laws says:

Just found this site and just started blogging and the two seemed to go hand in hand.

  14. Jan Stone says:

Wonderful idea, look forward to visiting other AAQI qult maker’s blogs.

  15. I’ve been blogging about AAQI forever (or so it seems). Happy to have my blog added to the list.

This page is a GREAT idea!!

  16. Dawn says:

I’ve only blogged once about the AAQI art quilts that I’ve made.

I cannot promise to comment or make a quilt every month, but I continue to support this wonderful cause. How do I get a widget for my blog?

  18. It’s such a fabulous idea! Those of us that have been blogging and linking to AAQI for years, now have a central spot for connecting with other like minded quilters and increasing the excitement of making, donating, or buying quilts!

  19. Jennifer says:

I just submitted my weblink to be a part of this website. I’m so proud to be a member!

  20. Rene' says:

What a great idea to have a central location for all AAQI related blog posts! Can’t wait to see all the quilts being made for 2011. Here are the two most recent that I’ve made:
