As the Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative prepares for its last quilt sale at International Quilt Festival in Houston, TX we thought it appropriate to remember and honor those who motivate our work—the people we love who have/had Alzheimer’s disease.
Therefore, this year, we would like to include a special display of photographs.
Please mail a photograph, or a photocopy of a photograph of the person(s) in your heart who motivates your participation in the AAQI. It needs to arrive at this address no later than October 30th:
Houston, TX 77024
Please mail it flat (no folds). You may identify the person or not, add a message or not, add your name or not. How you honor this person is up to you. You may send as many photographs as you like; they will not be returned.
The photographs will all be displayed in a collage on the outside wall of our booth.
This year we hope to sell every single quilt we bring. As we sell the last quilts, the photographs of your loved ones will be removed from the collage one by one. They will be moved to the inside of our booth and they will stand as placeholders for the last quilts sold.
People who visit our booth this year to purchase the quilts you stitched will know that Alzheimer’s is a disease that affects real people—the people they are looking at and their families.
Should you wish to include a donation with your photograph, make your check out to “Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative.” It is not required; the choice is totally up to you.
Please share this with anyone you know who might want to honor a loved one by having their picture displayed in our booth at International Quilt Festival in Houston. (Exhibit Hall; Row S—all the way in the far corner.)
Thank you for your support,
