Own A Piece of Quilt History

"Fade to Gray" by Melody Crust (detail)

The Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative (AAQI) online quilt auction began this morning and these are very special quilts indeed.

More than 300,000 people had an opportunity to experience “Alzheimer’s: Forgetting Piece by Piece,” the AAQI’s first traveling exhibit of quilts about Alzheimer’s. The show was hosted by 49 venues in 31 states over a period of five years.

"A Bouquet For You" by Sue Nickels (detail)

When the exhibit was retired at the end of last year, twenty of the participating artists donated their quilts to the Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative. We are offering those quilts in our August online quilt auction running now through August 10th.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to acquire a quilt that was part of this groundbreaking exhibit. Many of the quiltmakers do not ordinarily sell their work.

Please bid generously as all profits fund Alzheimer’s research. Please tell your friends, unless of course you think they’ll be bidding against you.

As always, thank you for your continued support of our efforts to raise awareness and fund research through art.
